Bast, Pamela A.

Pamela A. Bast, age 68, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life while surrounded by her children at her residence on Monday, June 2, 2014 following a courageous battle with cancer.

Pam was born on January 9, 1946 in Manitowoc to the late Bruce and Jeanette Sattler Mikowetz. She graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1964. Pam was employed with Lakeside Foods in Manitowoc until her retirement in February of 2012. She loved and enjoyed life - especially any time spent with her children and grandchildren. Pam was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Two Rivers.

Survivors include Pam's significant other: Warren Smejkal, Two Rivers; two children: Brett Bast and his significant other, Wendy Kuchinski, Manitowoc; and Tammy (Pete) Strzyzewski, Manitowoc; six grandchildren: Seth and his significant other Taylor, Alex, Gina, Kera, Madelyn, and Sierra; one great grandson: Owen; one niece: Sharon and her fiancé Robbie; the father of her children: Vince Bast; also other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Pam was preceded in death by her parents: Bruce and Jenny Mikowetz; and sister: Marsha Von Drachek.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Rev. David Arndt will officiate with burial to take place at Evergreen Cemetery at a later date. The family will greet relatives and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Following the service, a reception to celebrate Pam's life will be held at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the funeral home. The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home & Crematory, N. 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.

Pam's family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to Dr. Andrew Yetter and all his staff for the comforting care and compassion they provided.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials in Pam's name to be sent to Manitowoc Lutheran High School or St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Two Rivers.
