Diane Maria (Warner) (Woody) Dietrich was born on February 12, 1949, the daughter of Percy William Warner (1908–1971) and Mary Ray (Haley) Warner (1908–1974).
She grew up in Donelson, Tennessee, attending Holy Rosary elementary and then graduated from Two Rivers High School.
Married 1st to Fred Woody, they later divorced and Diane was re-married to William Dale Dietrich (1936–2016), the son of John Peter Dietrich (1902–1993) and Mary Katherine (Stenger) Dietrich (1905–1992).
She lived in Little Rock, Arkansas and Saint Charles, Missouri before returning to Nashville, where she went back to college and received her bachelor's degree in 1993 at the age of 44.
Diane found her mission in life at United Cerebral Palsy of Middle Tennessee as Director of Development, raising hundreds of thousands of dollars in support of their programs. She was passionate about helping those with all disabilities and made a difference in many lives.
She was also happy when in the backyard digging in the dirt and if you were fortunate to view her backyard in bloom, you knew she had a special touch. She loved the beach, any beach, the Predators, March Madness, and bargain hunting with the emphasis on the hunt.
A resident of Nashville, Diane was 65 years old when she died on June, 1, 2014 after a courageous fight against cancer.
Preceded in death by her parents and by her brother James Warner, she was survived by her husband, two sons and a daughter-in-law, two granddaughters, her 1st husband, a married sister-in-law, two step-daughters and two step-grandchildren.
Burial was in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Nashville.
