Born in Macon County, North Carolina on May 5, 1954, her parents were the late Annie Dee Cabe and Roy Lafayette Cabe, Sr. of Franklin. "B", as she was well known, was an active member of Midway Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister Carol Christine Cabe Hodgin and brother Roy Lafayette Cabe, Jr.
She leaves behind her loving husband George Carson, her children Stacy (Matt) Pegg, Brad (Gianna) Carson, her grandchildren Drew, Hannah, Emma, Rose, and Tag. Also surviving are sisters Dorothy Guest, Barbara Meadows, Rita Breedlove, Mary C. Fadely, Martha Truscott, Phyllis Vanhook, Judy Queen and Linda Nelson; brothers Bobby and Harry Cabe, and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was previously married to Robert "Bobby" Crisp from 1972 to 1991.
A celebration of Brenda's life was held at Midway Baptist Church, Bryson City, NC on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. It was the largest ever assembly of people there.
