Nellie I. Heverly, 91, Altoona, died Tuesday at Valley View Health and Rehabilitation Center after an extended illness.
She was born in Johnstown, daughter of Milton R. and Rose V. (Deshong) Barr. She married Elmer W. Heverly, and he died Nov. 29, 1962.
Surviving are four daughters: Carol Petrauskas, Beverly Belardi, Donna Richards and Wendy Leedy; four sons: James, Richard, John and wife, Dorothy, and Barry; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was the last surviving of 16 children and was also preceded in death by a son, Thomas.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no public viewing. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 7, 2014, at Anthony P. Scaglione Funeral Home, 1908 Seventh Ave., Altoona, Pastor Ron Khoury officiating. Interment will be at Carson Valley Cemetery.
