Obituary taken from newspaper clipping:

Edward J Rankin, 39 year old carpenter, died at 6:45 o'clock yesterday evening in his home, 3520 Lorraine avenue, after a illness of four months.

Mr. Rankin was born in Perry County, MO., a son of S. F. and Lena Rankin, nee Watkins, natives of Missouri on September 4, 1896. His father survives and resided in St. Mary, Mo., but his mother is dead.

He married Miss Callie Parker in East St. Louis on May 11, 1936. He also leaves five son: Douglas, Edward, Robert, Thomas and Richard and a daughter, Betty - all at home; a sister, Mrs. Mary Turman of Edgewood, Ill., and two brothers Joesph and George Rankin of St. Mary, Mo.

The body will remain at the Pete Gaerdner Funeral Home until the time of the funeral.

Given name may be James Edwards, on earlier census with his parents he is listed as James.

I have list his burial location in the Green Mount Catholic Cemetery, since his funeral services were held at the St. Mary's Catholic Church - but its possible he was buried in the Green Mount Catholic Cemetery.

There is no record of his burial location at this time. vjm

*Douglas was the step-son of Edward James Rankin
