Delores Catherine Allen, 81, of Sandwich, IL formerly of Peoria, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2014 at her home. Delores was a resident of the Open Door Rehabilitation Center since 1976. She was born on December 3, 1932 in Lake Cormorant, Mississippi the daughter of James Alfred and Minnie Mae (Potter) Allen.
She is survived by one sister, Mary Buhs of Leland, IL; six nieces and nephews, her Open Door Family, and special friends, Phil and Sandy Vahl of Sheridan, IL, Flora Atkins and her daughter, Pat Atkins both of Leland, IL.
Delores was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, George Washington Allen.
Private graveside services and burial will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria, IL on Thursday, June 5, 2014. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk, IL.
