Ralph served as a Sergeant, 744th Aviation Anti-Aircraft Battalion, Coast Artillery Corps, U.S. Army during World War II.

He resided in Sullivan County, New Hampshire and was a member of the New Hampshire National Guard prior to the war.

His National Guard unit was called into full time active Army service on September 16, 1940, prior to the war, from Claremont, New Hampshire. He was noted, at that time, as being employed as a Baker and also as Single, without dependents.

Ralph died in the "Line Of Duty" of a non-battle related incident during the war.
