*Margaret Noble was 60 years of age at the time of her second marriage to Nelson Ambrose, who was 67 years old. Margaret was a resident of Monroe, and had been born in Detroit, Mi. Nelson was a resident of Raisinville Township, Monroe County, Mi. at the time, and was farming. He was born in Virginia. The marriage took place on November 9, 1876 in Monroe by Minister Taylor Crum, with the witnesses for the ceremony being Mrs. Taylor Crum and Mary A. Wing, both residents of Monroe, Monroe County, Mi. (Book 4,pg 153. E.2882, publ. Marriage Records, Monroe Co., Mi Vol. II)
Margaret and Nelson were married four years before his death. After Nelson's death, Margaret was still living in Raisinville Township, with Jane Ambrose who was single, born in Michigan, and 27 years of age. This may be Nelson's daughter by his first marriage. **At the residence of Andrew Guyor, on Front Street, Mrs. Margaret Ambrose died on Monday evening at a ripe old age. Mrs. Ambrose was born in Detroit, 1813. At the age of 7 years she was brought to this city and placed in the family of Col. Anderson where she lived till after his death. About 21 years ago she married Mr. William Noble who died a few years later. She then married Nelson Ambrose who died several years ago. Since then she has resided at her home at Raisinville and at the residence of her many friends about the city. She enjoyed the friendship and good will of all who knew her. The funeral services were held at 2 o'clock at the residence of Mr. Guyor yesterday afternoon. Rev. Wm. B. Pope officiating. (MD, Jan 7, 1892)
