U.S. Veteran Dennis (Bum) Schram, beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away Friday, May 30, 2014. Age 83 years. The son of the late George and Bertha (Lewen) Schram, Dennis was born April 1, 1931 in Carleton, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of American Legion Post #225 in Lansing and Post #150 in Frankenmuth. Dennis married Lillian Lavrack, his loving wife of 51 years, September 15, 1962. She survives him. He was employed at Conlee Oil Company and at Second National Bank until his retirement in 1997. Dennis enjoyed playing Bingo and loved spending time with his family.
Surviving besides his wife Lillian are two sons, Denny Schram, Nashville, Tennessee; Ken Schram and his wife Christine, Saginaw; grandchildren, Travis (Chloe LeBlanc) Schram, Jeff Waslusky and his fiancée Sarah Belford; Thomas LaPan, who was like a son to him; Cindy Inman, who was like a daughter to Dennis; three sisters and two brothers, Carol and James Albrecht, Cleo and Edward Kohlhoff, Richard Schram, Ronald Schram, Loretta and Dennis Morton; many nieces and nephews.
Dennis was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers, Doris Schram, Sandy Dreffs, Mary MacMillan, Georgianna, Donald and Charles Schram.

Funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at Sheridan Road Baptist Church, 6911 Sheridan Road in Saginaw. Pastor Lou Jurva will officiate. Interment will follow in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens where military honors will be presented by American Legion Post #439. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Monday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at Sheridan Road Baptist Church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
