The Correctionville News, 12 April 2000, page 4: Sheila Ann Vaughn, 38, of rural Correctionville, Iowa, died Wednesday, March 29, 2000, as a result of an automobile accident three miles east of Sioux City. Funeral services were held Monday, April 3, at Grace United Methodist Church, Correctionville, with Rev. Paul Evans officiating. Pallbearers were Brad Wilson, Lewis Byers, Mike Hammond, Randy Wright, Keith Hansen and Don Haahr. Honorary pallbearers were Ted Waite, Tom Thomson, Don Thomson, Keith Thomson, Rick Hull, Randy Thomson and Kevin Thomson. Gary Caskey and Doug Thompson arranged cars. Burial was in Correctionville Cemetery under direction of Barker Funeral Service. Sheila was born January 22, 1962, at Carroll, Iowa, the daughter of Bonnie Thomson and Jim McCrea. She graduated from Eastwood High School in Correctionville in 1980 and then attended Community College in Sheldon, Iowa. She married Randy Vaughn on October 11, 1982. She had been employed at CCX in Sioux City for the past six months. She had also worked at the Midwest Shop Supply for the previous nine years, and had been employed at Gateway 2000. Survivors include her husband, two daughters, Meagan and Josie, both at home; her parents, Mike and Bonnie Heath of Correctionville and Jim McCrea of Omaha, Nebraska; mother-in-law, Betty Vaughn of Correctionville; grandparents Bob and Opal Heath of Correctionville; two brothers, Mark McCrea and his wife Dawn of Rocky Mountain, Virginia, and Nick Heath of Correctionville; a sister-in-law, Nancy McCrea Kurtz and her husband Bob of Cushing, Iowa, and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her brother Shawn and her maternal grandparents, Clayton and Icle Thomson.
