Richard "Richie" Blaszczyk, 76, Two Rivers, passed away on Monday, May 1, 2006, at Aurora BayCare Medical Center. Richie was born on June 21, 1929, in Two Rivers, the son of the late Ernest and Mary (Zywicke) Blaszczyk. On June 19, 1965, he married the former Carol Mohr at Holy Innocence Catholic Church. Richie worked at Hamilton Industries as a mail carrier for over 49 years until his retirement in 1995.
Richie is survived by his loving wife, Carol; two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Diane Blaszczyk, Thomas and Chelle Blaszczyk; two grandchildren, Paige and Zachary; one sister and two brothers-in-law, Marilyn and Dale Schultz, Arthur Heyroth; two sisters-in-law, Carolyn and Dorothy. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, Roman, Donald, Robert, Paul, his twin brother, Raymond, and one sister, Doris.
Gathering of family and friends will held on Friday, May 5, 2006, from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Saint Bernard Catholic Church, 2040 Hillside Lane. Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. with the Rev. David Pleier officiating.
In lieu of flowers, a Memorial Fund has been established in Richie's name.
The family would like to offer a warm note of appreciation to Dr. Raul Mendoza-Ayala and the 3rd floor ICU nursing staff of Aurora BayCare Medical Center for all of their gentle care and loving compassion.
