ABIGAIL, b. May 3, 1799; m. Jan. 12, 1817, Daniel Averill, Jr, of Branford, Ct.; d. July 24, 1876, Ch.: (1) Ralph, b. abt. 1819 Mr. Averill and Ralph were lost at sea 1837. (9) William Hoadley, b. July 10, 1821; m. Myrtie Fowler; he d. Apr. 16, 1891. (3) Samuel, b. July 12, 1894; d. Apr. 22, 1896. (4) Irene, b. Jan. 10, 1828; m. Henry Palmer, of Branford, Ct, the son of Ami Palmer and Abigail Kimberly, Jan. 15, 1846. He was b. Apr. 5, 1823, and d. Jan, 9, 1907. During his early days he remained at home helping on the farm. He soon had a calling for the sea, and was captain of his own vessel before long. He remained in the trading business until 1883, when he entered the oyster business under the firm name of Luddington & Palmer. He retired in 1900. Res., Fair Haven, Ct. She d. Jan. 11, 1907. Ralph Averill Palmer m. Sarah Arms Kinsey, daughter of William Lewis Kinsey and Jane March Bedell, of Eizabeth, N. J., in that city, Dec. 24, 1868. She was b. Dec. 4, 1847. He resides in Meriden, where be was connected with the Parker Bros Co. until about 1901, when he went South to oversee his orange plantation at Bradentown, Fla., where he now resides.
