Richard Stephen Ruth, 89 of Sugar Hill GA. formerly of Charlotte passed away Saturday May 24, 2014 at Gwinnett Extended Care Center.
He was born October 8, 1924 in High Point, NC son of the late Richard Leroy and Aileen Morgan Ruth.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two daughters, Dorothy Ruth and Linda Tolison.
Mr. Ruth was a USMC veteran of WWII, a former officer with the Charlotte Police Department, FBI agent and retired as a special agent with the ATF Agency.
The family will receive friends from 12 noon to 1:00 P.M. Tuesday June 3, 2014 at McEwen Funeral Service Charlotte Chapel 5716 Monroe Rd. Charlotte, NC 28212, with a graveside service at 1:00 P.M. in Sharon Memorial Park.
He is survived by four daughters; Beverly Lucas of McKinney TX, Debbie Vickers and husband Jim of Suwanee, GA, Brenda Douglas of Franklin, TX and Rebel Medley and husband Danny of Acworth, GA. Six grandchildren Steven Lucas and wife Angela of Atenas, Costa Rica, Lynn Chaffee and husband Marty of Baltimore, MD, Jim Vickers of Suwanee, GA, Richey Vickers and wife Julie of Winder, GA, Lalena Stavinoha and husband Reid of College Station, TX, April McClung and husband Lt. Col. Eric McClung U.S. Army of Hawaii and Andy Medley of Acworth, GA and 13great-grandchildren and5 great-great grandchildren.
