A native of Oconee County, she was the daughter of the late James Elbert and Cornelia Stone Pointer. Mrs. Nix was retired from Beacon Manufacturing and a member of Reedy Fork Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Drenda N. Owens of Seneca; and Beverly N. Jones of Westminster; brothers, Rev. Carl Pointer of Seneca, and Clarence Pointer of Ellenwood, GA; 3 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Joe Pointer; and sisters, Sylvester P. Blakely and Margie LeRoy.
A Funeral Service will be held 2 PM, Thursday, April 19, 2012 from the Chapel of Sandifer Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Oconee Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM, Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at the funeral home. The family is at the home of the daughter, Drenda Owens, 1415 Return Church Road, Seneca, SC 29678. Flowers are accepted.
