Don "Water Valley" Clift, son of James Wallace Clift and Zollie Mae Clift, who have preceded him in death, is survived by his wife, Sherry Clift; his daughter and son-in-law, Gayland and Sherry Hall; his grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Justin and Amanda Hall and their children - great grandchildren Whitney and Tyler Hall of Blue Ridge, Texas; his granddaughter, Kris Hall and her child, great-granddaughter Madison Hall of Palestine, Texas; his sister, Jakie Myrick of Water Valley, Texas and her family; and greatly loved cousins.
After many years of managing KFC, he returned to ranch life. Don loved his friends and family from the old days, as well as his new family at the Cowboy Church, which has played a vital role in his life for the last several years.
Family visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, June 2, at Johnson's Funeral Home. A celebration of James' life will take place at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, at San Angelo Cowboy Church with Pastors Terry Gayle and Jay Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery.
He's on the streets of heaven Taken by the Father's Hand To call eternal pastures His new grazing land. He's walking with the Savior With brand new boots and hat. He's telling jokes and laughing. You can bet your boots on that! A rancher rides with Jesus through green pastures and trails Throwing arms around his.
