Mrs. Bessie Borell, 87, formerly of Rock Island, who had been in Whittier, Calif., for the past 17 years, died in Whittier yesterday.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Wheelan Funeral Home, Rock Island. The Rev. Kenneth Kuenning, pastor of the Church of Peace, United Church of Christ, will officiate, and burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 tomorrow night, where there will be an Eastern Star service at 7 tomorrow night.
The former Bessie McCauley was born July 29, 1893 in Cordova, Ill., the daughter of William and Anna McCauley. She moved to Rock Island as a child and moved to California in 1964.
She was married to Albert H. Borell. He died in 1934.
She formerly had been employed at the Royal Neighbors of America, retiring in 1962.
Mrs. Borell was a member of the Eastern Star and also the Vashta Shrine.
Surviving are two sons, Dale of Green Bay, Wis., and Albert W. of Whittier, Calif.; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and two sisters, Mrs. Gladys Wells of East Moline and Mrs. Grace Turner of Tempe, Ariz.

Miss Bessie McCauley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William McCauley, 504 Thirteenth avenue and Albert Borell, son of Mrs. Edward Gosch, 1207 Second street, were united in marriage Wednesday afternoon at 4 o'clock at the home of the bride, Rev. M.E. Chatley of Memorial Christian Church officiating. They were attended by Miss Hazel McCauley, sister of the bride and August Kester.
Mr. and Mrs. Borell left immediately following for a short wedding trip and upon their return will reside in this city.
