James E. Hale, 86, of Route 28 North, Brookville, Pa., died Friday, May 30, 2014, at home.

Born March 14, 1928, in Warren, he was a son of the late Robert F. Hale and May Altman Hale.

He was united in marriage to Helen McCall on July 22, 1954, in Knox. She survives.

He was a veteran have served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He worked as a secondary education teacher for the Brockway Area School District for 40 years

Survivors also include a son, William (Carla) Hale of Brookville; a sister, Phyllis Jordan of Knox; a brother, John Hale of New Castle and two grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by a son, Timothy Alan Hale.

Friends will be received from 1-2 p.m. Monday, June 2, 2014, at the McKinney Funeral Home in Brookville. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Timothy McConville officiating.

Burial will be in Temple Cemetery. Warsaw Township, Jefferson County.
