Donald F. Goetz, 88, of Berwick died Saturday, May 31, 2014, at Fritzingertown Senior Living Community in Drums.
Born March 8, 1926, in Berwick, he was the son of the late Carl and Edna (Wright) Goetz.
A graduate of Berwick High School, he went on to serve in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
In his early years, he was employed as a machinist for Berwick Automotive, retiring from Champion Valley.
Mr. Goetz was a member of the Nescopeck VFW Post 8227 and the AMVETS.
Among his interests were traveling to Atlantic City with his wife and bingo.
Preceding him in death were his wife of 47 years, the former Elove Marie Stout, who died on Jan. 30, 1997; his daughter, Diane M. Coleman; and a sister, Marion Taylor.
Surviving are his two sons: Donald C. Goetz and his wife, Beth Ann, of Berwick; and Steven A. Goetz and his wife, Beth A., of Corapeake, N.C.; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Joan Thomas, of Berwick.
A private visitation and funeral service will be held at the Mayo Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Chestnut St., Berwick, with the Rev. Jeff Bohan of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Bloomsburg, officiating.
Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Walnut Street, Berwick.
