Services for Cheri Jo Davis were held Sept. 5 at White Oak Pond Cumberland Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Theron McCloud officiating. Burial was in the White Oak Pond Cemetery.
Music was provided by Danny Rhoads, soloist, and the Lebanon Concert Choir, accompanied by Joyce Massey, organist.
Escorts were Brian and Dwayne Viele, Bobby Bellis, David Wood, Gary Newton and Brent Hough. Honorary escorts were Ronnie Coffman, Lester Ham, Mike Lillard, Donnie Crocket, Kenneth Bell, Greg Kays and Mark Engsberg.
Jo, daughter of Carl J. and Charlotte Beard Davis, was born Oct. 4, 1961 in Lebanon and died Sept. 2 as the result of an automobile accident.
Jo was a Senior at Lebanon High School, where she was active in a number of organizations including FTA, Nike, Drama Club, Concert Choir, Band, Jacket Journal, AFS Club and Student Council.
On Sept. 19, 1971 she professed her faith in Christ and united with the White Oak Pond Church. She was active in every phase of youth work, choir and Camp Cumberland. Music and children played an important role in Joe's life.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Mrs. Cleva Davis.
In addition to her parents, survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Carla Davis Bellis, Aurora; and Jill Davis of the home; her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Beard and Mr. and Mrs. Willie Davis, all of Lebanon.
