WM. DIESTELKAMP, SR., DIES NEAR RED BIRD
William Diestelkamp, an aged and respected citizen of the Red Bird community where he had lived for many years and who also had resided in Owensville for several year died very suddenly Sunday morning. August 9, near Red Bird from the effects of a heart attack, aged 82 years, 4 months and 14 days.
He had been In good health, having helped thresh on Saturday, and Sunday morning he helped milk as usual, ate a hearty breakfast, and then was suddenly taken Ill and in two hours was dead.
Mr. Diestelkamp was born in Germany on March 26, 1849.
The family came to America and settled in Missouri, where he was married in 1871 to Miss Louise Cordes at Woollam.
His wife has preceded him in death along with two daughters, Mrs Ed Pricker and Mrs Adolph Picker, and two sons August and George Diestelkamp.
He leaves to mourn him three sons and one daughter: Willam of Safe, Henry of Hinkle, Herman of Belle, and Mrs Elmer Ferris of Red Bird, at whose home he passed away.
He also leaves one brother, Herman Diestelkamp of Bland, besides 23 grandchildren and 26 great granchildren.
He was a brother of the late Henry Diestelkamp of Owensville.
He was also preceded by two daughters Mrs Ed Pricker and Mrs Adolph Picker plus two sons August and George Diestelkamp.
Funeral services conducted by Rev. J. L. Rinehart, were held Tuesday at the Oak Grove Church and Cemetery.
