John was born and raised in Panama City, Fla., until he was blessed with a second chance at life by receiving a double lung transplant at Shands Hospital in Gainesville. An avid sports fan, he loved the Gators, the Cowboys and his childhood team the Drummond Park Yellow Jackets! He had a quick wit and a great sense of humor, coupled with his optimism you quickly understood why it was so easy for him to endure so much just to breathe. He got his love for books from his Grandma Bradley and you rarely saw him without a book in hand. He loved a good debate, trivia, old movies and the Simpsons. He will be most remembered for his courage to face each day knowing the struggle that lay ahead of him just to be with his family.

John is survived by his parents, John Adams and Sherry Watts, and step-parents, Karen Adams and Brit Watts, the love of his life, little sister, Madison Watts, along with sisters Mari Bozcar, Amy Leitner, brother Keith Leitner and his Uncle Ed and cousin Eddie Rodak.

John passed peacefully into his eternal life in the arms of his parents where he will forever "Breathe Strong."

John's family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the Pulmonary Lab at Shands whose compassion and expertise never faltered. To Rebecca Brown, John's favorite hippie, thanks for helping John find his "Zen."

In lieu of flowers, John requested donations be made to Streetlight at Shands Hospital, Streetlight.ufhealth.org, or The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
