Carl Hubbard Frank, 86, husband of Lillian Mae (Guyer) Frank of Waynesboro, passed away Friday, May 30, 2014 at his residence.
Mr. Frank was born on July 27, 1927 in Waynesboro, a son of the late Luther Alvin and Jessie Maude (Crum) Frank.
Carl was an active member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church where he was currently serving as a trustee. Mr. Frank also served on other various committees through out the years. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and retired in 1986 from DuPont with 42 years of service. Carl enjoyed woodworking, camping, boating and the outdoors.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Frank was preceded in death by his first wife Edna (Kirby) Frank; an infant son Steven Wayne Frank; a brother Alvin C. Frank; and two sisters, Rosalie (Frank) Shiflet and Phyllis (Frank) Toman.
Mr. Frank was the last surviving member of his immediate family
Surviving in addition to his wife is a daughter, Donna F. Burns and husband Sam of Staunton; a step son, Linus Lee Cash and wife Keely of Waynesboro; four step grandchildren; four step great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, June 2, 2014 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2014 in Augusta Memorial Park, Waynesboro.
A Memorial service will follow at 12:00 noon at Bethlehem Lutheran Church conducted by Pastor Karen Taylor.
Active pallbearers will be Frank Miller, Paul vonSeldeneck, James Duff, Anthony Raines, Glenn Thompson, Roscoe Miller, Frankie Coyner, Gabe Frank, and Daniel Stogdale.
It is suggested that those desiring make memorial contributions to Bethlehem Lutheran Church, c/o Donna Burns, 1148 Ladd Road, Waynesboro, VA 22980 or to Hospice at Augusta Health, P.O. Box 215, Fishersville, VA 22939.
