Lucille Coulter Dean, 81, formerly of Perryville Street, widow of J. B. Dean, died Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2005 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. Born Sept. 21, 1923 in Washington County, she was a daughter of the late T. R. and Flossie Hardin Coulter. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Springfield and enjoyed cooking, traveling, canning and working in her garden.

Survivors include: one daughter, Sue Young of Danville; one brother, Doris Coulter of Thompsonville; one sister, Wilnah Dile of Pierceton, IN; one grandchild, Bartley McQueary; three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Ina Neal Dean; three brothers, Arvel Coulter, J. R. Coulter and Carl Coulter; four sisters, Mattie Bell Settles, Ruby Willis, Effie Goode and Edith Gowins, and one grandson, Barry McQueary.

The funeral was Friday, Aug. 12 at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Rev. David Simpson officiating. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery in Willisburg. Pallbearers were Tony and Tim Curtsinger, Tony Dile, Bobby Settles, Joe Bailey and Bartley McQueary. Honorary pallbearers were her nurses and nurses aid, Sherry, Monica, Norma, Melissa and J.J.
