Sidney Vincent Alexander, 84 years of age, of Midland, passed away Friday, May 30, 2014 at Levine & Dickson Hospice House of Southminster in Charlotte.

Mr. Alexander was born April 14, 1930 in Charlotte to the late Thomas Taylor Alexander and kate Mary Elenora Joye Alexander.

He was also preceded in death by wife, Betty Marie Alexander and stepson, Bill Hendrix.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm, Sunday, June 1, 2014 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The funeral service will be on Monday, June 2, 2014 at 11:00 am at Hopewell Baptist Church in Monroe officiated by Rev. Dr. Lee Pigg. Burial will follow at First Baptist Church Cemetery, 4720 Garmin Mill Road in Midland.

Survivors include daughter-in-law, Ann (Rick) Vipperman of Charlotte; stepson, Gil Hendrix of Concord; sister, Mildred Aldred of Charlotte; brother, Bob Alexander of Charlotte; six grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
