Funeral rites were held Sunday for Jabe Cochran, 54, who passed away Thursday, Dec. 27, 1962. Mr. Cochran was born July 14, 1908, to Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Cochran. He had lived most of his life in the Iberia-Brumley community.

On March 3, 1926, he was married to Cleo McDowell who died June 16, 1936. They were the parents of three children. February 3, 1937, he married Chloe Pemberton and to this union two children were born.

Survivors are his wife, Chloe of the home; three sons, Dennis and Bill of Brumley, and Wayne of Kansas City; two daughters, Mrs. Donna Whittle, Iberia and Mrs. Sue Bevelot, Lake Ozark; one brother, Jewell of Centry, Ark.; four sisters, Mrs. Lena Shelton, Mrs. Maggie Shelton, and Mrs. Alma Floyd, Miami, Okla., and Mrs. Elsie Stanton, Montreal;
and 20 grandchildren.

Mr. Cochran was a member of the Glover Chapel Church of Christ. The Rev. Jesse Stone, pastor of the Iberia Baptist Mission, officiated at the services at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Mt. Union Church near Brumley.

Burial was in the church cemetery under the direction of Walter Hedges Funeral Home of Brumley.
