LAWRENCEVILLE -- In the quiet morning hours on Tuesday, Christ called Florence L. Moss from her residence at Morris Hall. Born in Miami, FL to the late Eugene L. Sr. and Lillian P. Knowles Moss, she was educated in the East Orange Public School System. She attended Ashland Elementary School and Clifford J. Scott High School where she excelled in academics, then went on to attend Pratt Institute in New York with a major in Nutrition. After a year of studies, she joined the work force at Western Electric, Kearny. While a full-time employee, Florence continued her education through various college level courses related to corporate management. Her educational experience culminated in 1988 when Florence fulfilled the course requirements to Bloomfield College with a major in Materials Management and a minor in Spanish. She proudly earned her Bachelor of Science degree and graduated summa cum laude. She retired from Western Electric after 25 years of service.

Florence was a member of the Church of St. Ann, Lawrenceville and was a devoted member of the Jesus Prince of Peace Prayer Group.

She was the oldest sibling of five children and was predeceased by a brother, Roland T. Moss. She is survived by two brothers, Eugene Moss Jr. (Lillian) of Maplewood and Leon Moss (Leslie) of East Orange; one sister, Dr. Alice Dickens of Lawrenceville; caring nieces and nephews, Leon Joel Moss (Terris), Denise, Kimberly and Patricia Moss, James Moss (Maria), Christine Lassiter (Jay), Diane Imegwu (Obi), Danielle Lopez (Carlos), Nicole Simon (James) and Arthur Knowles Jr.; 11 grandnephews; one grandniece; and a host of other devoted relatives and friends in the United States and Bahamas.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel at Morris Hall, 1 Bishops Drive, Lawrenceville.

Calling hours will be from 9 a.m. until time of service at the chapel.

Interment will be at Glendale Cemetery, Bloomfield.

Arrangements are by Anderson Funeral Service.
