Daughter of Norman (possibly Herman) Kellogg, Ida was born in Illinois and lived in Paw Paw, DeKalb County, Illinois.

In the 1870 Census the family was farming in east Paw Paw and boarded some farm laborers and a local teacher. By 1880 the family had moved to Saticoy, Ventura County.

Ida had a sister Inez who was two years older. She also had two (half, I believe) siblings, a brother John (eleven years younger) and a sister Octavia (fourteen years younger). (These would be the children of Louisa.)

About 1882 George married Ida Kellogg, together they had eight children. Their children were George, Olinda (born about 1884), Charles, Yale, Mark, twins Emma and Elsie, and the youngest, Norman.
In the 1900 Census daughters Olinda (age 15) and Emma (age 7) were not attending school, all the boys (save Norman who was 2) had attended school for ten months.

George supported his family by farming.
