Turner rites today
Phares Turner, one of the founders of Turner Lumber and Supply Company in Minden, died Wednesday morning at 8:05 a.m. in the Schumpert Medical Center in Shreveport after an extended illness.
He was 89.
Turner Lumber was the oldest lumber company in the Minden area. Mr. Turner was also a member of the Baptist church.
Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. today in the Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Ronald Prince officiating. Burial will be in the Minden Cemetery.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
