Thelma Snarr Nielsen passed peacefully on May 15th, 2014, at the home of her son Sherman, of causes incident to age. She was born on June 8, 1916, to Daniel and Lula Snarr. Two brothers, Glen and Don, later completed their family. She grew up in Murray and attended BYU, later becoming a teacher. She served a mission in the Northern States Mission and then married Soren Roy Nielsen in the Salt Lake Temple on September 3, 1948. She always sought to bless others. She cared for her ailing husband for sixteen long years, volunteered in the community, tutored elementary school students, and served in the temple. She enjoyed learning the Gospel and cooking for her family. She is survived by her son Sherman, his wife Donna, and six grandchildren: Amy Stock (Richard); Rob Nielsen (Rebecca); John Nielsen (Mandy); April Huntington (Elliot); and Michael Nielsen (Katie); and her adopted granddaughter Laura Cook (Scott); as well as nine great-grandchildren.
