The Huntsville Times, Huntsville, Alabama Saturday, August 6, 1994. Elkmont. Walter Lee Atchley, 54, of Sweet Springs Road, Elkmont, died Wednesday at Lincoln Regional Hospital. The funeral was to be today at 10 a.m. at Ardmore Funeral Home with Dennis Bain and Joe Plunket officiating. Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery in Ardmore. Mr. Atchley was a member of Wooley Springs Baptist Church. He was a 32nd-degree Mason. He was a retired civil engineer from Redstone Arsenal. Survivors include his wife, Nadine Atchley; two sons, Troy Atchley of Toney and Barney Atchley of Elkmont; a daughter, Tammy Fleming of Dawsonville, Ga.; three brothers, Howard Atchley and James Atchley, both of Harvest, and Leon Atchley of Athens; a sister, Aliene Hovis of Capshaw; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
