Denver C. Lau, age 64, of Brillion, passed away at his home on Tuesday, 3 March 2009, with his family by his side after a courageous eight month battle with cancer.

Denver was born on February 20, 1945. in the Town of Rockland, son of the late Clarence and Rose (Fuhrman) Lau. He married Jan Kiekhaefer on 7 August 7 1966.

Denver worked for the Brillion Iron Works for 43 years before retiring. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, hunting, fishing, walking his dog Bailey, shaking dice with the boys, and he was an avid Brewers and Packers fan.

Denver is survived by his wife Jan; his children: Todd (Jody) Lau, Terry (Shelly) Lau, and Tanya (Todd) Boettcher; his grandchildren: Amber Lau, Jenna Schomburg, Avery Schomburg, Max Lau, Justin Bastian and Brady and Marlie Boettcher. He is also survived by brothers: Harland (Darlyne) Lau, Jerome (Diane) Lau; sisters: Eunice (Marvin) Loppnow, Gloria (Merlin) Robley, and Sue Kiel (Bob Siehr); two sisters-in-law: Gloria Jensen and Donna (Bill) Foytik; and a brother-in-law, Gary Kiekhaefer (fiancee Ann Borchardt).

Denver was preceded in death by his step-father, Wilmer Ahrens; mother and father-in-law, Martin (Verna) Keikhaefer; a brother-in-law, Bernie Jensen; and three nephews: Josh Moede, Rick Loppnow, and Jeffery Robley.

Funeral services for Denver will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, March 6, 2009, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rantoul with burial will in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.
