Dale A. Beard, 66, of Hanover, formerly of Carrollton, Ky., died Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at the Kentuckiana Medical Center in Clarksville.
He was born April 2, 1948, in LaGrange, Ky., to Joseph Earl and Velma Lee Spurr Beard. He was a self-employed auto mechanic. He was of the Christian Faith.
He is survived by four sons, Christopher Dale Beard of Carrollton, Ky., Richard Shane Popp of Louisville, Ky., Shawn Bishop and Andrew Beard of Carrollton, Ky.; two daughters, Samantha Horine of Carrollton, Ky. and Stephanie Lynn Hudson of Bennington; three brothers, Wayne Beard of Pigeon Forge, Tenn., Mike Beard of Milton, Ky., and Paul Beard of Hanover; one sister, Nancy Jo Baker of Mena, Ark.; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home in Carrollton, Ky. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery of Carrollton, Ky.
Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 11 a.m. until the service.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Dale Beard Memorial Fund. Contributions can be made through the funeral home.
