Beloved husband of Edna Mae (Jufer) Frazer. Loving father of Jacqueline Lynn (Doug) Helsel and John (Tina) Frazer. Caring grandfather of Sarah Helsel, Abigail Frazer, Amber Frazer and Brooklyn Frazer.
Dear brother of the late Clara Ruth Farst. Cherished son of the late Dr. John L. and Jeanette (Brown) Frazer and late step-mother Robin(Decker) Frazer.
Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.
Before retiring, John worked as the Registrar at the University of Rio Grande & Rio Grande Community College 1993- 2002. Prior to this John served as a Senior Training Liaison Officer at FERMCO in Hamilton, Ohio, Director of Sales and Training at Dubois Chemicals in Cincinnati and taught at Vinton County, Talawanda and Milford Exempted Village School Districts and was an instructor with General Electric's Large Jet Engine Facility in Glendale, Ohio.
John earned a Master of Education degree at Miami University, a Bachelor of Arts in Education at Rio Grande College and also attended University of New Mexico and University of Findly, Findly, Ohio.
John served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was one of the original graduates of the Kentucky Military Institute. Recognitions include: Westinghouse Total Quality Gemstone Achiever for three consecutive years, International Television Association Golden Reel Award nominee, Outstanding Meeting Facilitator. Affiliations included American Association of Collegiate Registrars and, Kiwanis Club past president , American Veterans Association, Society for Instruction in Southern Ohio, American Society for Training and Development International Television Association, Masonic Lodge, and Phi Delta Kappa. After retiring, John volunteered for the local VA as a driver transporting medical patients and with the Ariel Theatre.
He also initiated the process for erecting a large Garrison American Flag that now waves above the city of Gallipolis. John loved collecting, fishing, photography and family.
John was a member of the Milford United Methodist Church and Grace United Methodist church, Gallipolis, Ohio and attended Calvary Baptist church, Lancaster, Ohio.
Services will be held on Monday, June 2, 11 AM at Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 1668 St. Rt. 28, Goshen, where friends will be received from 10 AM until the time of service.
Interment, Greenlawn Cemetery, Milford, OH.
