“Rites Conducted for Newspaperman. SOUTH GATE, March 23 – Private funeral services have been conducted for F. L. Steenrod, 77, of 8144 Madison Ave., who died Wednesday afternoon at his work at the South Gate Daily Press Tribune.
Formerly publisher of the Booneville News and Advertiser, Booneville, Mo., he has been associated intermittently for the last 30 years with the W. J. McGiffin Newspaper Co.
Besides his widow Francis he leaves a daughter, Mrs. Robert Hoefer of Norwalk.”
