Ashley L. Lane, age 20, of Florence, SD, formerly Watertown, SD, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2014, near Watertown. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 21, 2014, at the First Baptist Church in Watertown. Pastor Joe Ellyson will officiate. Music will be provided by Beth Weiss as pianist. The family is requested to meet at the church by 1:15 p.m. for a prayer service. Visitation will be at the Crawford Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. and prior to services at the church on Friday. Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Watertown. Pallbearers will be: David Lane, Ronald Thomas, Nathan Peters, Ronald Olson, Richard Rodman and Aaron Moshier. Ashley was born on October 13, 1993, at Salem, OR, to David and Lanette (Thomas) Lane. She attended Watertown High School and graduated with honors in 2012. During high school, Ashley was involved in orchestra, where she earned 1st chair status in violin for three years. She also sang in the choir and loved art. Ashley was employed by Culvers as an assistant manager for several years and most recently as a waitress at Buffalo Wild Wings. She enjoyed shopping, texting and spending time with her family, especially her nephews. She kept in close contact with her friends on Facebook. Her nick name was "Boo Bear". Ashley's favorite foods were chicken nuggets and french fries. Ashley is survived by her parents, David and Lanette, of Watertown; one sister, Kim (Ricky) Gonzalez, of Florence; her maternal grandmother, Donna Thomas, of Watertown; and her paternal grandparents, Barbara and Ron Olson, of Canby, MN. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Ronald Thomas, Sr.; and her paternal grandfather, Marvin J. Lane.
