Nettie Mae Holt, a longtime Dallas tutor and active church member, died of heart failure Tuesday morning in her Dallas home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Sparkman-Hillcrest Funeral Chapel, 7405 W. Northwest Highway, with interment at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Mrs. Holt, a native of Bowling Green, Ky., had lived in Dallas more than 50 years. During a career that spanned 40 years, Mrs. Holt tutored hundreds of students in the Highland Park school system. Many of her former students are now Dallas business and civic leaders. Mrs. Holt was a founding member of the church orchestra at First Baptist Church of Dallas, where she played violin for many years.
She also served on the Women's Advisory Board of Dallas Baptist University and was a member of the Kentucky Club and the Musical Arts Club.
Survivors include one son, John Holt of Dallas, and three grandchildren, all of Dallas.
