C. J. was born on December 9, 1955, in La Marque, Texas, and attended Galveston schools. She split much of her time between Galveston and Dallas, Texas, where she had family close by. About 10 years ago, she moved to Boise, Idaho with a friend, seeking new opportunities. There she found her niche in the art of karaoke. She loved music and played her guitar often for family and friends. Those close to her will forever think of her singing "Me and Bobby McGee."

Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 20, 2002, at Calvary Catholic Cemetery with Pastor Dennis Hankins officiating.
