Cyril Haigh was educated at Mexborough Secondary School

He joined the RAF in 1932 as an Apprentice and passed out in 1935.
Later he applied for Pilot Training, accepted and in July 1940 was with 604 Squadron at Northolt
On Aug 25th he was Captain of a Blenheim L6872 which crashed near Witheridge Exeter on an Operational Sortie.
Haigh and Sgt Fletcher were killed and LAC A L Austin died next day aged 23.
