Following an illness of ten weeks, J.A. Martin, 79, died at the family home at 618 West Larkin street here at 11:50 o'clock Friday morning.
Funeral services were held Saturday with interment following at the Red Hill cemetery.
Deceased had been a resident of Henderson county for the past 35 years. He was a native of Panola county, Texas.
Survivors include his wife; six daughters, Mrs. Emma Lewis and Mrs. Exia Gunstanson, both of Murchison; Mrs. O.O. Hayles and Mrs. J.W. Wade, both of Athens; Mrs. Mary Eldredge, Marshall and Mrs. Laura Speakes, Breckenridge; and one son J.J. Martin of Athens.
