Funeral services in memory of Charles W. Hoover, well-known resident of Mt. Zion, who died Saturday, April 12, 1947, were held from the Hawk funeral home at Sligo at 2:00 Tuesday afternoon. Rev. Wonderling, pastor of the Callensburg charge of the Methodist church officiated at the service. Interment was made in the Mt. Zion Cemetery. Mr. Hoover had been ill for many months. Death was due to a heart condition. He was the son of the late Wm. H. and Cinderella Boyles Hoover. He was born February 7, 1884 in Toby township, Clarion County. On September 7, 1907, he married the Zora Belle Finnefrock who survives. Early in life Mr. Hoover became affiliated with the Mount Pleasant Methodist church and was active and devoted in his church relations as well as in all good civic enterprises. Besides Mrs. Hoover, the following children survive: James E. Hoover, Sligo; George W. Hoover, Monroe, Wisconsin; Mrs. Mildred Wetzel, Knox; Mrs. Margaret Pollock, Clarion; Arnold E. Hoover, Sligo; Pfc R. Hudson Hoover, stationed in Tokyo, Japan; and Daryl R. Hoover at home. Eight grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. G. Elmer Williams of Akron, Ohio, also survive.
