Persis Gray Snow Proctor was the first born child of Jonathan Gray and his wife Persis Reed of Woburn, Middlesex Co., MA. On December 28, 1756 in Woburn she married James Snow (1731/32-1783). The couple settled in Woburn and raised eight children: James (b. 1757), Jesse (b. 1760), Jonathan (b. 1762), Persis (b. 1765), Hannah (b. 1767), Asa (b. 1769), Josiah (b. 1772), and Joseph (b. 1774). After the death of her husband by drowning on June 28, 1783, Persis moved to Jaffrey, Cheshire Co., NH. There she met and married Oliver Proctor (ca. 1726-1809). It was the second marriage for both of them. No children were born to this union.
