Son of Fred E. Coburn & Gertrude L. Coburn.

Wendall served with Company G, 172nd Infantry, U.S. Army during World War II.

He resided in Sullivan County, New Hampshire and was a member of the Vermont National Guard prior to the war.

His National Guard unit was called into full time active Army service on February 24, 1941, prior to the war, from Windsor, Vermont. He was noted, at that time, as being employed as a Paymaster and/or payroll clerk and also as Single, without dependents.

Wendall was "Killed In Action" on New Georgia Island, southwest Pacific during the war.

He was awarded the Purple Heart.
