•Married first to Lucy Caroline Dawson. Tragically, both his wife and infant daughter, Susan Teresa Wigginton, passed away in less than three years after the marriage. Reuben Thomas then married Lucy's sister, Margaret Virginia Dawson, known to the family as "Couchie".

•"Reuben Thomas Wigginton, son of Fielden (sic) Wigginton and Teresa Smith, born in Trimble County, Kentucky. Came from Kentucky to Missouri with his father's family in 1846; merchant at Falmouth from 1862 to 1880; an incorporator at the Bank of Lincoln County, 1888-1916."
