BAXTER Funeral services for Alton Boyd, 75, of Baxter will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18, from the chapel of Baxter Funeral Home. Burial will be in Stewart Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4-9 p.m. today, Jan. 17, at the funeral home.
Mr. Boyd died Monday, Jan. 16, 2006, at his residence.
He was born Oct. 2, 1930, in Putnam County to the late O.E. and Glener Scarlett Boyd.
Mr. Boyd was a farmer and a member of Lilly's Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.
His family includes his wife, Ruthie Burgess Boyd of Baxter; a brother and sisterinlaw, James and Delma Boyd of Baxter; a sister and brotherinlaw, Kathleen and Alvin Mahan of Cookeville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, E. Lee Boyd.
