Manuel A. Sisneros Sr., age 72, joined his loving wife, Angie Sisneros in eternal life on May 27, 2014. Manuel was surrounded by his loving family when God called him home. Manuel, known to many as Manjo or Mannie was born to the late Virginia Maestas and Alberto Sisneros in Wagon Mound, NM on July 8, 1941 where he grew up with love and happiness. Manuel was a gentle, kind hearted man with great wisdom that he shared with his family and friends. The countless nieces and nephews, who shared in the advice from Uncle Manjo, will always treasure this gift. Manuel was a graduate of Wagon Mound High School and went on to receive his license as a Master Barber in El Paso, TX. Manuel was a barber for well over 50 years and was the proud owner of Mannie's Barber Shop in Las Vegas for the last 12 years. Mannie also worked at the New Mexico Boys School for 28 years. His greatest accomplishment in his career in corrections was advancing from an entry level corrections officer to retiring in 2000, as the Superintendent of the facility. Mannie had many great friends and co-workers whom he held in very high regards. Mannie was a very spiritual individual and he held the Morada de San Jose of Wagon Mound along with Los Hermanos very dear to his heart. Some of his happiest memories are of the time he spent there during Holy week since he was a very small child. Mannie was also an avid fan of football and basketball and especially enjoyed following his New York Jets, Wagon Mound Trojans and the University of New Mexico Lobos. Manuel was a loving husband, father, grandpa, brother, uncle and friend. Manny was united in marriage to Angie Sisneros on May 16, 1959 in Wagon Mound, NM. They made their home in Wagon Mound and then eventually moved to Springer until 2000, when they decided to retire in Las Vegas. Mannie was a devoted Catholic and attended Our Lady of Sorrows Parish, as well as being a life long parishioner of the Santa Clara Parish in Wagon Mound. Mannie, known to his grandchildren as "Pocky or Pops" devoted all of his spare time to attending all of his grandchildren's academic and athletic events. Mannie was their biggest fan. Mannie had a special relationship with each and every one of them, as well as with his children. His sister Sofia always has and will always be very dear to him. Mannie leaves behind a legacy of compassion and honesty that each and everyone of us will hold in our hearts dearly. We would like to thank his loyal customers for their patronage over the last 12 years. We would also like to take this time to thank Dr. Frank Gallegos and the staff of Buena Salud along with the staff and doctors of the Lovelace Heart Hospital in Albuquerque for the amazing care and compassion they showed for Mannie and the family during this time. Mannie was preceded in death by his parents, Alberto and Virginia Sisneros, wife, Angie Sisneros, sister, Estella Armijo, brother, Erminio Sisneros, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Celina and Juan Chavez and brother-in-law, Crestino Garcia.
