Marjorie Sutton March 25, 1925-May 17, 2014 Marjorie (Margie) Moegle Sutton passed from this earth at her home on May 17, 2014 after a series of short but progressively serious illnesses. Born in Taylor to Paul and Minna Moegle, Margie lived here her entire life.

She was a proud Taylor Duck and graduate of the Class of 1942. As a young woman, Margie excelled at playing tennis, something she would continue into middle age, often playing against coaches and other worthy opponents half her age.

After World War II, Margie married G.W. "Shrimp" Sutton and to that union four children were born. After raising her children, she worked for a number of years at House Jewelry and other downtown retail stores. While her husband Shrimp worked at ALCOA and ran his gunsmithing business, Margie raised her four children and became known for her wonderful handwork, especially her embroidery and pieced quilts.

She loved creating things for others and always had a project at hand, producing an astounding number of beautiful quilts, baby blankets and embroidered towels over the years. She played bridge for decades as a member of three different clubs and also enjoyed playing dominoes and bingo locally. In recent years she truly enjoyed attending musical jamborees with her friend, Dot Hughes. Always gregarious and outspoken, Margie never met a stranger, as she was quick to strike up a conversation with anyone she met and was happy to offer her opinion on virtually any subject.

Margie's other passions included playing all games of chance and traveling to Las Vegas and especially Disneyworld with her family members. She will be missed by a host of good friends, including lifelong friend Ann Wehby, as well as her bridge club members and those she gathered with at the Switzer Senior Center. In addition to her husband, Shrimp, who died in 2003, Margie was preceded in death by her sister, Polly Douglas and brother, Paul Moegle.

She is survived by her four children, daughter Kris Binagia (Ronnie) of Nederland; son Shannon Clay Sutton (Gerry) of Taylor; daughter Robin Garbett Hebert (Mike) of Beaumont and more recently Taylor; son Steven Colt Sutton (Ginny) of Georgetown; as well as grandsons Shane Sutton (Jill) of Austin; Barret Sutton of Bee Cave; Jacob and Zachary Sutton of Georgetown; Tommy and Christopher Garbett of Port Neches; granddaughters Kim and Kelly Hulse of Austin; Nikki Garbett of Houston; Stacey Sutton and Casey Jonas (Josh) of Taylor, and six great-grandchildren, Sloan and Reagan Sutton, Kyle Garbett, Kaylyn Garbett, Eathan Sanchez and Bella Jonas. She is also survived by her niece, Pam Baker.

She was very proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family wishes to thank Dr. Nathan Cohen for his compassionate medical care of their mother and grandmother throughout the years.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Providence Funeral Home.

Celebration of Life Service will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at Providence Funeral Home with burial to follow at Taylor City Cemetery.
