Kathleen Lauderdale Schoettle Harper, 95, passed away on May 24, 2014 in Houston, Texas. The family will receive friends at Waltersburg Church on Saturday May 31, 2014 from 1-2 PM. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM at the church. Burial will follow at Waltersburg Cemetery.
Kathleen was born on 12 Sept 1918 in Rock Community, Pope Co., IL. to the late Thomas Ado Lauderdale and Winnie Estella Kerley. She married Carlos Schoettle on 1 May 1943 and spent much of her adult life in Kingsville Texas where her husband was a college professor. Carlos passed away in 1973. Kathleen then married Roy Harper, who predeceased Kathleen. She was also predeceased by two brothers: Joseph (1924-1924) and Thomas Eugene (1924-1994) Lauderdale, a son, Ronald Schoettle, and a grandson Anthony Spellman.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Ellen Spellman (Steve) of Rosenberg, Tx and their children Shawn (wife Crystal F. Labbato in KY), Melissa (Tx) and her son Chase, Pamela (husband Bradley Taggart in SC), Gregory (Tx); and another daughter, Phyllis Powell (Tom) of Houston, Tx and five children with her first husband John Spencer, all now in Houston, Texas: Robert, John, Laura Severt, Debbie Klintworth and Cheryl Shepherd (Rusty); and a host or nieces, nephews, and extended family members, many of whom have family roots in Golconda, IL.∼found in book "Pope County, Illinois Cemeteries Vol. #III"
