Corey Wingate, age 37, of Ocheyedan, Iowa, died on Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley.
Funeral Services will be Friday, June 10, 2011, at 10:30 A.M. at the Christian Reformed Church in Ocheyedan, Iowa. Pastors Charles Gilbert and Steve Swenson officiating.
Burial in the Ocheyedan Township Cemetery in Ocheyedan.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 9, from 3:00 to 8:00 P.M. with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Christian Reformed Church in Ocheyedan.
In lieu of flowers, memorials will be given to Corey's children, Alayna and Cayden.
Corey Dale Wingate was born on December 17, 1973, in Sioux City, Iowa, the son of David and Deb (Dirks) Wingate. He lived his youth in Ocheyedan, Iowa, and attended the Sibley-Ocheyedan School, where he graduated.
He was united in marriage to Alyssa Seivert of Ocheyedan, Iowa, on July 12, 2003, in Worthington, Minnesota. They lived in Ocheyedan where Corey worked for Minnesota Soybean Processors in Brewster, Minnesota, until 2006. He then was employed by the Cooperative Elevator Association in Ocheyedan.
Corey was a member of the Ocheyedan Fire Department and the United Methodist Church in Ocheyedan. He was the Vice President of the Ocheyedan Catfish Club and a former member of the Ambulance Crew as an EMT.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, camping, bonfires, fishing, hunting, rafting down the Ocheyedan River, bike riding, horses, Nascar, and woodworking.
Corey was a hard worker and family and community oriented.
His wife and children were very special to him. He will be remembered as a loving husband and father.
