Little Falls was renamed Vader. Esther was generally called "Marion." She was born in Little Falls which was renamed Vader and incorporated in 1906. She married Glenn William Burgess (born 12/16/1899 in Ferndale to Samuel Reese and Ida May (Morsman) Burgess) on May 8, 1923 in Bellingham. She married Rex Eugene O Dell, a merchant, (b. 6/8/1896 in Grayling, Michigan on August 28, 1954at Couer D'Alene, Idaho. This information is from a Troutman Simmons family history provided to me, her cousin, in 1980 and published in the Cantwell Tapestry.

Marion Burgess Odell, 87, formerly of 2700 Yew Street, Bellingham, died Saturday in Bellingham. She was born May 8, 1904 in Little Falls, WA to John and Mary Anderson.

She was a resident of Bellingham for 71 years, a member of Garden Street United Methodist Church, life member of Sehome Chapter #17 Order of Eastern Star, Daughters of the American Revolution, Whatcom Co Historical Society, Past President American Legion Auxiliary and 8 et 40.

For many years she was "Grandmother" to Mr. North Storm's 5th grade class at Roosevelt Elementary School.

She was a poet and author and hosted a radio program on KVOS in Bellingham during the early 1940s. The program topics centered on the history of Washington State.

From 1954 until it closed, she operated the Kulshan Tavern with her husband with her husband Rex Odell.

She was preceded in death by husbands Glenn Burgess, Sr. in 1953 and Rex Odell in 1980; a son Glenn Burgess, Jr. and great-grandson David May Jr. Survivors: Daughters Janet Lindley and Mary Fleming of Bellingham; step-son, Don Odell of Wenatchee, WA; 8 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 9 great-greatgreatgrandchildren and numerous other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 26, 2 pm at Greenacres Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. William G. Berney of Garden Street United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Greenacres Memorial Park.
