FLORENCE — Bobby Joe Blevins, 80, passed away on May 31, 2017, at ECM Hospital. Bobby Joe was a native of Crab Orchard, West Virginia and worked in the tool and die industry for over 52 years. He moved to Florence in 1960 to start PMD. He was also one of the founders of the Southeastern Extrusion, and in May of 1986 he was one of the founders of Die Tech, Inc.

Visitation will be Friday, June 2, 2017, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel with Jacky Ward officiating. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.

Mr. Blevins was preceded in death by his parents, James and Ethel Blevins, and a son, Jerry Paul Blevins.

He is survived by his beautiful and loving wife of 61 years, Jackie Blevins, of Florence, and children, Danny (Sheila), Tammy (Patrick), Tony, Bobby, and Jay (Terri), all of Florence. Bobby Joe was blessed to have eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The grandchildren include Christy (Michael), Danette (Chad), Kyle (Jessica), Courtney (Michael), Blake (Crissy), Kane, Gracie, and Randon; great-grandchildren include Aidan, Jack Carson, Hayden, Maddie, Carter, and Bane; siblings, Connie McDonald, Larry Blevins, Beverly Ragan, and Randy Blevins; special friend and business partner, Randy Bassham; and a special cousin, Tommy Fortner.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Randon Blevins, Kane Blevins, Blake Blevins, Kyle Blevins, Randy Bassham, and Billy Newcomb.

Bobby Joe’s great-grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers: Aidan Kennedy and Jack Carson Phillips.
